In the beginning, when Wallace climbs up on the tower to throw off the bow men, you can see that both of them wear a helmet.

In the next cut, where the first archer falls, he doesn't wear a helmet anymore, but in the next cut, you see him falling, making a turn and then his helmet falls off...

Did he have a spare helmet or something???
