Terminator 2: Judgement Day - Inconsistent Age
Based on various clues, the film takes place around 1994: 1984 is ten years earlier, 2029 is 35 years later, etc. It can't be later than 1994, because the Terminator refers to things happening in three years that happened before August 1997. If you pause on the police car computer screen showing John's information, you will see that he was born in February of 1985 (consistent with the first film) and is ten years old. So John Connor is ten years old in a year when he should be nine, and is being played by an actor who was more like thirteen at the time. John also says he will meet his father when he is 45, but in 2029 he should only be 44.

In response to Steven, if the film took place during the same year it was released (1991), John Connor would have been six years old. That's an even bigger slip-up. And although the movie never explicitly states that the story is set in the future, I remember reading an article about the movie in 1991 (I think it was an interview with James Cameron) that said the film was set in 1994.

I watched this movie again recently, and I saw that the first clue I mentioned about the year (1984 being ten years earlier) is not in the movie. But all the other clues are there. Now that I think about it, maybe I should have titled this slip-up "What year is it, anyway?"

Dan's right, I believe it was 1994. But I really don't think having an older actor play him is a slip-up. They have 29 year old actors that play 15 year olds (this was in Dodgeball, I believe), not to mention Mean Girls, where half of the girls looked like they were out of college.

I'ts even screwed up in the 3rd movie. John claims the t2000 came when he was 12. Would'nt that put the movie time frame in early 1997?

Imfirmative Movie Takes Place In The Present 1991. Not 94 If It Was Anything Close To The Right Time It Would Be 1998 Because He's 13 And he Was Born In 85.
