The scene when Michael Bolton is working with the computer virus and saving it to disk, one shot shows a top-down view of his hand and the mouse on a mouse pad. Then a bottom-up shot from beneath the desk shows his face and the bottom of the mouse without a mouse pad.
Do you notice the music and everything? Its just a joke!! Plus that was just a view of the mouse to look cool! He doesn't have a glass desk anyway, so its obviously just made to make the scene more 'dramatic'

If they would have used a mouse pad for the under the desk shot it would have looked stupid, and would have distracted me from noticing the point of that shot which was the look on Michael Bolton's face.
