In the scene entitled "Gabriel's Rescue" Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) takes his two sons and leads an attack on some British soldiers to free Gabriel. During the scene, the wagon driver gets shot in the chest and falls over dead. At the very end of the scene Benjamin is slowly walking away from the massacre and the scene starts to fade to black. Just before the scene completely fades out, take a look at the wagon driver. He raises his head and lays back down as the scene fades out. I guess he thought the scene was over before it actually was.
