Watch the part where Ace displays his affection'(when they spit at each other).The moment they come out of the hut they all have Ace's goo all over them,then the camera cuts to the chief wiping his face and when it cuts back to Ace,the goo is gone!

I think this was intentional. It would be sort of like Tom&Jerry, where the cat is burned and in the next scene he's fine. Its just supposed to be funny. besides, I don't think they wanted to waste a whole scene on them drying off ;)

Actually, I think you can see Ace whiping off his face before they cut to the chief. I want to saw you can hear him whipe it off too.
