In the episode before "Haunter vs. Kadabra," listen carefully to Charmander just before Haunter licks him. You should hear it say, "Smile then?" WHAT??? Pokémon are only supposed to say their name!!!

Torin Darkflight writes:: The people who do the closed captioning in a lot of shows don't always have a script to go by, and so they end up entering in the captioning based on what they hear. Because of this they don't always get everything right. Timtim writes:: Are you absolutely sure that Charmander said this? Aren't you the same person who said, "IT'S HAUNTER NOT HOUNDOUR!" (Houndour being the name of a Pokemon in Gold/Silver). I haven't double checked this, but if you had your close captioning on then it's possible some other character said it. FYI: Not all Pokemon say their names. Krabby/Kingler goes "koookie koookie", Dragonite just screams, Aerodactl makes a crying sound, Onix goes, "rooooaaarrr", etc.; 3 of 4 people found this comment helpful. Did you?
