Mummy, The - How Many Black Books Were There?
It is night of the day when the Americans have found the Black Book of the Dead. The Egyptologist is sleeping, holding the book in one arm and a Canopic Urn in the other. Evi takes the book from him and carries it to her camp to open it. She reads the words that wake up the mummy. The Egyptologist wakes up and yells, “No! You must not read from the book!”
Now, the great cloud of locusts starts coming. Everybody runs for the buildings, except the Egyptologist. He is next found lying on his blankets, covered with bugs and holding the Black Book.
When did he get it back?

My friend tells me that there was a part where the book was thrown back to him, after he yells out for the book back. The clip was taken out of the final cut because it was too uneventful or something. I don't know if this is true, he says it can be found in the directors cut. Also the famous book of the dead must be worth quite a bit, so whoever has got that book must be laughing.

DK, the 'book of the dead' was a list of spells on papyrus that was placed in every mummy's sarcophagus, or either on or in the linen. But it was never a book, they didnt have hard covers on books then. there are more that one, but they can't 'raise the dead' or 'kill the dead'...

Just a bit of something interesting on the subject of the book: The book is real, and there are many copies in existence today. None of them are complete mind you, as the original had approximately 200 chapters. Check the ultimate edition DVD feature Egyptology 101.

The book of the dead (if anyone paid to the movie) was complete but MANY attempts to duplicate happened. That is why there was the book of Amunra. Also how the book came to the archiologists hands ..watch closely during the running around with the first plague. Also, he is not laying down with the book he is standing.
