This is not actually a slipup. It's kinda vague, but what Jean is doing while she's fiddling with those tabs during that scene is removing them. There are a couple of closeup shots of their faces in between the last time you see the wires on his chest, and the shot where he's about to be slid into the scanner, where his chest is bare. What's implied is that those tabs were there for whatever test came immediately prior to the X-ray scan. It only makes sense that she'd be taking them off; if they were there during the scan, they'd show up on the X-rays.

Well, I rewatched the movie yet again, and while she has a pile of wires and tabs that she hands off, a) you don't see her actually remove the tabs, and b) her upper body and head are entirely steady while she is supposedly removing the tabs (the close shot is of her talking to Wolverine). Like several other scenes in the movie, it strikes me as poor directing rather than an out-and-out error.

Jean can move things with her mind, so she wouldn't need to move her upper body to take them off.
