In the beginning of the film, when Wolverine is taken to the school for the gifted, he is unconscious. As Grey inserts a needle into Wolverine's arm, he wakes up and attacks her with the needle still stuck in his skin.

The needle is inserted into his right arm, and after he awakens and runs down the hall, he removes the still imbedded needle from his left arm.
