VH1's Top Ten Countdown - Oop! Wrong Song!
Ok...right after, I believe it's the number 10 or 9 video there is a segment called Countdown Contenders. They talk about videos and their artists that are just short of making the countdown. They show a clip of "Here With Me" by Dido and talk about how this song was her debut single and it's used for the Roswell theme. Then they say it is also sampled by Eminem.
So what's the slip up?
Yes, Eminem samples a Dido song on his cut "Stan" but the Dido song is "Thank You" not "Here With Me."
AND "Thank You" came out before "Here With Me" did. It was on the soundtrack to the Gwyneth Paltrow movie "Sliding Doors". So technically "Here With Me" is not Dido's debut single.

Don't know about the Eminem portion, but I don't think they generally count soundtrack tracks (because they're usually "Various Artists" efforts) as released singles. Likewise, they probably wouldn't refer to this soundtrack as the "debut album" of the artist. Seems like in most music-related news sources, it has to be released under that artist's/group's name as a stand-alone single.

I have known about Dido since last year and I think her debut single was "I'm no angel". So I guess you are right.

Hi, I would just like to say that Dido song Here With Me came out before Thank you did. It was the theme song for the show Roswell. Which came out before the song Thank-you...although if I am wrong. would you please tell me. Thank You...lol. :)

The movie that "Thank you" by Dido was in was not Sliding Doors; it was Bounce with Ben Affleck.

Ah yes, "Thank You" may have been used on the movie soundtrack, but that isn't actually classed as a single RELEASE. So, therefore, "Here With Me" is her debut single release.

Responding about the "Thank You" song in Bounce, and Sliding Doors. Although you can actually hear the song being played in the movie, "Bounce", the song does also appear on the soundtrack of "Sliding Doors", but you don't hear it played in the movie. I've seen both movies and own the "Sliding Doors" soundtrack.

Several people have said that Thank You is not in Sliding Doors. You're wrong. It's in the closing credits. It looks like Gwyneth Paltrow is a Dido fan. Too bad she didn't name her daughter that instead of Apple.
