Ever wonder why Kelly McGillis was wearing a hat during the elevator scene? The director forgot to film the scene. When they figured it out, they had to get the actors back. Kelly was working on another movie and had her hair cut. To cover it up, they had her wear the hat.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention that at various points in the elevator scene, Kelly McGinnis' ear is sometimes inside, sometimes outside of her cap. Drives me nuts every time I see the movie.
