Top Gun - Plane Numbers
Find and remember the number (located under the cockpit on the side of the plane) of the F14 airplane that Maverick and Goose were in when Goose dies (during his ejection). Then go to the very end fight at the end of the movie. That same plane (the one that supposedly crashed)is used in that fight. There are also many instances of planes being in the air that are different from the ones that took off - you just have to pay attention to the numbers!

The director/producers of the movie couldn't exactly be picky about what planes the Navy was gracious enough to let them use. I think this is being a little picky since they probably couldn't avoid using different planes in different shots.

I noticed that too! There's also a part (at the end) where the plane changes numbers, like before they take off it's like 41 then when they land it's back to 14.
