When Johnny is leaving the resort and saying goodbye to Baby, he walks up to his car and throws the keys into the front seat.
When he gets in the car he places it in gear and roars off. Never looked for the keys he earlier threw in the car

He doesn't throw his keys in, he throws his jacket and his sun glasses in the car.

Like they said it was his sunglasses and his jacket he throws into the car and if you listen his car was running when baby and johnny were saying goodbye
