Toward the end of "The American President," the president is in his Oval Office talking to his advisor about how he's going to drive over to Sydney Wade's house and let her know how much he loves her. Just at that moment Sydney bursts into his office and tells him, "Just stay away from DuPont Circle. I hear it's murder driving through there." Clearly, she heard what they were talking about before she ever opened the door and walked in. This isn't possible, because the Oval Office has soundproof doors and walls.
