Final Destination - Dead or Alive?
In the movie you see only 2 teachers even though later on they say that there were 4 teachers and 40 students going to Paris. 7 of them get out off the plane before it crashes. But at the memorial service they reveal a statue for the 39 who died in the plane. How is that possible? 44-7=37, not 39.

The memorial had nothing to do with everyone in the plane. It was the service for the students. Apparently, 40 students and 4 teachers went, but only the main cast was focused on. Also, you're right about the math, but any jet plan of that size 2 + 5 + 2 rows across holds at least 200 passengers. If the cabin they showed was the entirety of the passenger cabin, it would be a really short, really fat plane!

What are you guys talking about? The SCHOOL put together a memorial for the TEACHERS and STUDENTS that died on the airplane, not everyone else. I can't remember exactly but it seems like the were over 100 people TOTAL who died on the plane. The original slip-up is correct.

KT writes:
The slip up is about the amount of students and teachers that died on the flight in comparison to the total amount that were supposed to go on the trip. It had nothing to do with the number of people who died on the flight, therefore, the pilots and FLIGHT ATTENDANTS (they aren't stewardesses anymore) have nothing to do with the point that iris was trying to make.

If you would have paid more attention in the movie, there were 4 teachers, 2 seated with students (1 male, 1 female), 2 got off, 1 back on. 7 people survive.

I noticed this too. About the 4 teachers but there probably were four teachers they just didn't show the other two. And if there were four and one got off plus the 6 students then that would make 3 teachers and 34 students for a total of 37 from the school still on the plane. So why they made a memorial for 39 i don't know.

this comment it for KC. there were only two teachers on the plane because when those 7 got off the plane the two teachers were there and the airplane security was arguing with the female teacher and she said something like "one of us HAS to be on that plane! we have 40 children going to Paris"
