As I understand Truman has a camera in the Ring on his finger? Then how come when he escaped and everybody is looking for him nobody ever looked on what that camera was showing? they would find him in a second.. its like he had a tracing device on him all the time..
As we all know, Merrile leaves Truman. It's quite obvious since, the Cristoff mentioned his plans for that season on "True-Talk." Truman is also obviously devastated over his sudden breakup since everyone at the station are woories about him (remember that asked how he was doing.) We also know that he was cleaning up his basement before he leaved.
1) You don't spend the whole day to clean a basement just to fall asleep.
2) You do not make plans of a new love interest when the wife is still around.
So, Truman, now depressed, could have removed his ring, since he's getting a divorce now. So TA-DA! They can't see him on the ring cam!

You guys, didn't he take his ring off before he left? I saw the movie a while back and I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure. Can somebody verify this?

I don't believe that they ever mention in the film itself that Truman has a camera in his ring. However, it was shown in the movie's ads and mentioned in various documentation regarding the movie, along with the fact that it was something he always wore because it came from his father. In the final scenes of the film, it is obvious that he is NOT wearing the ring. Knowing that his father wasn't real, it probably had no meaning to him any more so he removed it.

If they had looked for him through the camra in his ring the movement would have been to iratic to make out where he was, because he was running all time or in his car.

Before the storm was generated for Truman, he was looking at the collage picture he had made of the girl. How come Meryl, who was watching Truman on TV, knew what he was looking at (since she smiled, I assume she knew what he was looking at). Doesn't that mean there should be a hidden camera placed at Truman's eye level.

An even simpler answer would be that the ring is out of range of the receiver. It's a fairly small ring, and it can't have a very powerful transmitter. They could have a receiver in the house somewhere.

I have to disagree. This is a good point. They would have been able to know where he was based on the ring, and what you said about it being too eratic is thinking too much into it. Also, they could've atleast figured out that he was on a boat based on the ring.
