2) When they are singing "Always look on the bright side of life" and the camera looks at Brian, you can see someone wearing normal clothes!

this isn't a joke, it's actually John Cleese being stubborn. It was freezing cold and winday, and he didn't want to be on top of a cross with his undies on! I saw a documentary with him and Eric Idle explaining this.
