During game one of the world series which Steve Nebraska starts he also hits. The game is being played in an american league park (Yankee stadium) however the DH rule is in effect where a man bats for the pitcher. Because of this Steve could not have batted.
You do not have to select a DH to bat for the pitcher; it's just that the managers usually do because the pitchers are not the greatest hitters. But, in this case, Steve Nebraska was such a good hitter that his manager let him bat.
