Brimstone - He Really has Time-Travelled!
In the pilot episode, in the year 1999, Stone witnesses an interleague baseball game between the Reds and the Yankees. However, the first two years of interleague game as of 1999 were limited to AL East teams playing NL East team, and AL Central teams playing NL Central teams. So, since the Yankees are in the AL East and the Reds are in the NL Central, they could not have been playing in an interleague game.

This is not actually a slipup while the statement is correct. I remember reading somewhere on the WB message board that the shows creators are big fans of these two teams. The knew they were adding an inconsistancy in the show but viewed it as a kind of wish list of what they would like to see.
