There's a difference between a crime and an offence. If you break the law, it's not always a crime. Not paying taxes is an offence, no crime.

Not paying taxes IS a felony, it's called either fraud or tax evasion, depending on which statutes you read. And, they actually advise you before you write a comment to check your spelling and grammar here... It's "offense," not "offence" when used in the United States. And, just in case you are from outside the U.S., how would you know it isn't crime here when you don't pay taxes? Think before you respond.
