In the scene right after the girl gives him a makeover, the guy is at school, talking to his friend, in his new leather jacket. If you pay attention, you cna see that in one shot his jacket is zipped up, then it is suddenly unzipped.

And if you watch carefully, just before it is unzipped, you see his hand reach toward right where the zipper is. I don't think that was a slipup.
