Summer Rental - Wham! Sounds Odd Here.
During the movie theater scene, Boy With Headphones asks Girl With Headphones what she's listening to. She says "Wham!" and gives the radio station, he switches his tuner and finds it, Kenny Loggins' "Footloose" starts blaring out of his headphones and he says "Cool!!" Would it have been so difficult for the moviemakers to either a) find a Wham! song, or b) have Girl With Headphones simply say she's listening to Kenny Loggins?

I think when she says "Wham" she means the radio station is named "Wham 103". Not meaning that she is listening to a Wham! song......not sure about this, but it's just a thought. I've seen the movie plenty of times, and I think that's the name of the radio station, not the song she's listening to. Listen closely - he asks her, "What are you listening to?" She replies, "Wham 103."

Sorry to disprove what could have been a very obvious slipup for you, but.... If you look in the background after the boy tunes to the same station, the large movie poster on the wall in the background is from "Footloose" (the movie they are going to see) the Kenny Loggins music is just supposed to act as a segue or be in the background from the movie starting, not to be what the two of them are listening to. Besides, they don't exactly move to the Footloose song, indicating that they are listening to something else.

Sorry to disappoint you all but the girl does not say Wham 103...She says Wham 104...I know because I watched the movie last night.She is probably talking about the radio stations name.

Jaymes, how are you so sure of this? You sound so confident that you're absolutely 100% correct..... the way Girl with Headphones says it, she could easily be saying the name of the BAND and then the radio station. Keep in mind that Wham! was a popular band (inexplicably enough) in 1985.

I doubt that they were even listening to anything on the headphones. Have you ever heard of post production audio?
