The beginning supposedly takes place in San Jose, Costa Rica. Through the trees, you can see the ocean. San Jose is at about 3000 feet and more than 150 miles from the Pacific.

The beginning of the movie says "off the coast of costa rica" and the owner of the park even says that he leased an island off the coast.
