In the 1947 Tom and Jerry cartoon "The Invisible Mouse", Jerry discovers invisible ink can make him invisible too. Towards the end of the short, Jerry takes a break from tormenting his feline foe Tom and eats a banana. We see the banana "disappear" bite by bite, then we pan over to see Jerry's shadow on the wall...which can't happen if he's transparent ,right?
