Bruce Almighty - Ab Positive
In the beginning of the movie Grace says that she needs to donate blood because she has a rare blood type, AB positive. In reality, blood banks don't want AB blood because they can only give it to a very small amount of people, while people with AB blood are known as "universal recipients" and can accept any type of blood, whether it be A, B, AB, or O. Blood banks want O blood, the "universal donor" because they can give it to any patient.

Blood banks take all kinds of blood. Universal is good for emergencies, but they want type specific if at all possible. Rare blood types are in fact in high demand.

Your facts are only partially correct. You're forgetting about one important factor of blood type...the pos/neg. AB+ is the universal recipient, and can receive blood from any donor. However, AB- is extremely rare (less than 1% of the general population) and can ONLY receive negative blood types (AB-, A-, B- or O-) is NOT a universal recipient.
