NCIS - Locked Out of an Open Door?
At the beginning of the episode "Suspicion" which originally aired on 1/16/2007, a man walks out of his motel room wearing a bath towel. As he walks out it is clearly seen that the door to the room is left wide open. When he returns he finds himself locked out, which causes him to go to his neighbors room, where he discovers the crime scene. The man being locked out is important because it progresses the scene, but how is that possible when he left the door open behind him? There was no one else in the room or else they would have let him back in, so how did he get locked out?

How did he locked out? Simple. Some doors are self-closing, the hinges are designed to return to the closed position. The door to my garage does this.
