Gone Baby Gone - Playstation
When Ed Harris is talking about the time he planted evidence on sometone to Casey Affleck's character, he said it was "15 years ago". Then he said he saw a kid grasping onto a Playstation for dear life. Gone Baby Gone takes place in 2007, but the Playstation didn't come out till 1994. According to Ed Harris, the kid had a Playstation in his hands two years before it was released. What?

I agree it is a slip-up of sorts. However, put yourself in a middle aged person's mind and think about it...my mother might see me holding my i-Pod and say something like "playing with your Nintendo?" Now I know the DS and everything, but she would only be thinking about Nintendo because of 20 years ago with the Gameboy I used to play. She wouldn't be thinking about the DS. The flipside is the character currently aware of Playstation and substituting it in his mind when it was probably a Super Nintendo, but he didn't really think about what it was the kid was holding onto. Could be equated to the name brand syndrome: I need a Kleenex, let me make a Xerox of that, use a q-tip, make some Jell-o, I need a band-aid. These are all brand names so maybe he just said Playstation like people would say these other things. Don't know.
