During the movie there are a number of times where Forrest is running across the football field and no one can catch him. He is supposed to be so fast, but during one of these scenes you can see the referee easily keeping up with him!

daRkaCiDfeaR writes:: Actually in the movie when Forest, as a child, is running past the old men sitting on the corner they say "That boy sure can run!" and as the movie leads on when he gets into college to play football the reason he gets in because he can run so quickly. So yes I do believe they mean he can run quickly. As for the Ref.'s there can be more then one. If you watch football at all there is always more then one on the sidelines running.
