Goodbye Girl, The (1978) - The Empty Horse and Carriage
Toward the last 15 minutes of the film Richard dreyfuss's character, in order to make amends to Marsha Mason and her daughter, hires a Central Park horse and carriage.
He first has the driver pick up the girl at school, and then they go on to pick up Mason at home.
Right after he picks up the girl, the two are seen sitting opposite each other in the carriage's rear, talking.
Next is a medium long shot from above showing the carriage progressing down the avenue.
Only there's clearly NO ONE sitting in the back seat

I just watched the movie and I disagree. Initially, Dreyfus sits across from the girl before moving next to the girl towards the end of the scene. She is leaning against the side of the carriage on the passenger side. In the next scene the carriage is seen progressing down the avenue and both passengers appear to be sitting together in the rear seat but now they are behind the driver (on the driver's side of the carriage). My guess is the passengers are no longer the actors we saw in the earlier seen...perhaps they are stand-ins?
