When Dylan dives into the water in the Poseidon lobby to swim across he dives into the fire on the water. He is able to dive under and swim across. No mistake, this is possible. However in both the first film when Reverend Scott commits suicide in the end he falls into plain water with a little fire on top. He falls nowhere near it and dies. In the 2005 version two people fall to their death in a fire lake. Granted it we don't see the water so that could be explained, but how is it the Reverend died by falling into water and Dylan survives when diving into fire on water? This is a huge mistake to not be noticed by producers.
