Red says that Andy Dufresne escapes from Shawshank in 1966, 19 years after he arrived in 1947 but he receives a postcard "not long after" that shows a postmark of Fort Hancock, Texas where Andy crossed the border into Mexico. In the next scene it shows Andy driving along the coast of Mexico in a red 1969 Pontiac convertible but he escaped in 1966 which is counter to what Red said as being "not long after" his escape.
