Pirates of the Caribbean (The Curse of the Black Pearl) - Commodore Norrington
After Commodore Norrington arrests Jack Sparrow and cuffs him, Jack wraps his cuffs around Elizabeth's neck and says, "Commodore Norrington my effect please, and my hat", even though Jack never learned Commodore Norrington's name.
Don't you think it's possible that he learned Norrington's name from the British guys that were guarding the dock? Or maybe he heard Elizabeth say his name. Norrington seem to know who Jack was by the tattoo of the sparrow on his arm, that he had a run in with the East India Trading Company, and that he was a pirate.
