In the desert battle sequence where Darth Maul leaps off his speederbike to attack Qui-Gon and in the scene where Qui-Gon tells Anakin to run you can see Darth Mauls lightsaber hit Qui-Gon on the wrist and lightsaber hilt. Qui-Gon does not recieve any damage to his body nor to his clothes. Clearly this a CG mistake.
