Apocalypse Now. - Folded Flag
When Captain Willard and the boat crew are burying their dead friend with the French soldiers, the boat captain pulls the American flag off the body and begins to fold it.
If you look closely you can see him start folding it into a triangle starting from the side with the stars on it. When folding the American flag you start from the end without the stars so that the blue and the stars will be the only visible parts of the flag once it is completely folded. A trivial mistake, but something that should have been fixed in a movie about American soldiers.

i completely agree that they should be a little more accurate with things like that. It also used to bug me that when people portrayed Military officers in movies or on T.V. their uniforms would be wrong ( ribbons out of order, Patches in the wrong place; missing etc.) until i found out that they are supposed to do that! By law they have to be inaccurate with the uniforms that way they are not impersonating an officer. Cool huh?

Due to the nature of this film and the fact the camera pans in to emphasize the flag being folded I believe this is almost certainly intentional, to symbolize Chiefs silent protest against the war.(Similar to hanging a US flag upside down is a sign of distress or protest.)
