In the scene where Nathan Burdette (John Russell)and his henchmen ride into town to confront John Chance (John Wayne) the first time Dude (Dean Martin) stops them at the town's entry and commands them to give up their guns. One of the henchmen (Bob Steele) gets a little defiant and Dude shoots his bridle rein. After a small arguement Dude is satisfied he's disarmed the pack, HOLSTERS HIS GUN, and let's them through. As they ride away the camera pans back to Dude and gun is magically back in hand!
