Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows - This Kid Should Be Alive!...Just in Prison.
In Chamber of Secrets, it is revealed that Colin Creevey is a muggle-born. That's why I found it odd that he DIED in Deathly Hallows, because earlier it is explained that, under Voldemort, muggle-borns can't go to Hogwarts. This means that Colin should not have been there for the final battle.

It's possible that he was on the run, like Dean Thomas, and also kept the coin that alerted them about D.A. meetings. Therefore when everyone was told about the battle, he came back to Hog warts.
