Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows - This Kid Should Be Alive!...Just in Prison.
In Chamber of Secrets, it is revealed that Colin Creevey is a muggle-born. That's why I found it odd that he DIED in Deathly Hallows, because earlier it is explained that, under Voldemort, muggle-borns can't go to Hogwarts. This means that Colin should not have been there for the final battle.

A lot of the members of the DA came to the Room of Requirement via the hogs Head in Hogsmead, including muggleborns like the Creavy brothers.

He probably hid in the Room of Requirement to help the DA at the beginning.

It's possible that he was on the run, like Dean Thomas, and also kept the coin that alerted them about D.A. meetings. Therefore when everyone was told about the battle, he came back to Hog warts.

What it actually says is that muggle borns have to sign a register if they want to go to Hogwarts, if they do they're fine
