At vairous points in the film, Martin (John Cusak's character) wear's a black baseball cap. When he goes to ask Minnie Driver to the reunion he enters her bedroom, removes the cap and puts it on top of one of the bed posts. After asking her to join him that evening he walks out of the room without the cap. By the time he's reached the door to leave the house the cap has magically appeared in his hand behind his back.
