NCIS - California Navy Plane
When the team arrives at an airport with their prisioner the shot from the door fo the plane shows the US capitol dome in the distance. The aircraft moving out of the frame in the foreground carries the tail code PG and a blue symbol. The plane is a Navy P3 Orion patrol plane belonging to Patrol Squadron VP-65 based in Pt Mugu, California. VP-65 is a Navy Reserve Squadron that was decommissioned in March 2006. This is clearly a composite shot with teh foreground taken at Pt. Mugu and the capitol dome added during editing to get the illusion of arriving in DC.
It is that hard to get a stock shot from Washington Regan airport to get the same effect. Or better yet do the composite shot with a regular commercial airliner in the foreground? There are no "navy" airfields within sight distance of the capitol.
