In the Fellowship of the RIng at the meeting in Rivendell, Legolas suggests that he take the ring. Gimli then yells "I WILL BE DEAD BEFORE I SEE THE RING IN THE HANDS OF AN ELF!" and for a split second after he says "elf," some mucous pops out of his nose.

NOTE: I have this movie on VHS so it might be a problem with the film.
