Early in the movie the gang decides to commit a theft at the airport. Two of the gang are shown leaning on a 1965 Chervy Malibu over the footnote saying LaGuardia Airport 1964.
Assuming that the car is theirs, which is somewhat doubtful considering they are about to steal a truck, it is not unreasonable to assume the owner of the 'chevy' was able to acquire the vehicle. Whether he is a somebody in the automotive world, or indeed a gangster, whom are often able to get products before the general public. Somewhat of a slipup, but nothing glaring.
