General's Daughter, The - UCMJ Problems
When Brenner is at Moore’s house right before he arrests him, he tells Moore that he has no right to remain silent. Article 31 of the UCMJ states, “No person subject to this chapter may compel any person to incriminate himself or to answer any questions the answer to which may tend to incriminate him.” Later at the end of the movie he tells the General that he will be charged under Article 32, conspiracy, cover-up, ect. Article 32 deals with pre-trial investigation, equivalent to a civilian grand jury hearing. Conspiracy is Article 81.
