When Ralphie and his mother are in the bathroom upstairs after he shoots his eye out, the father sits on his chair reading the funnies. This is when the neighbors' dogs run past him from the left and into the kitchen where they destroy the turkey. I never understood how they came in that way since it was the back door that was left open, not the front.
