Tremors - Can the Monsters Go Through Rocks or Not?
Right after Val & Earl warn the road workers about a murderer that is cutting people's head off, they blow him off. Then the worker with the jack hammer hits one and it drags him up the hill, which falls and proves to be strictly rocks, but later, they state clearly that the graboids cannot go through rocks!!

Yes, but the hills are made of broken, and, obviously, loose rock, very easy for a Graboid to get through. The mountains and concrete waterways are solid, unmoving walls of rock. Big difference.
