Twice during the movie Koda plays with Dandelions, once when he runs through a field of them and once when he blows the seeds off of one. Dandelions weren't introduced to North America until the 1600's. The fact that mammoths are still roaming the Earth suggests that the movie is set quite a bit earlier than the 1600's.
