American President, The - Never Been to White House
When Sydney Wade is going to the White House with her co-worker at the beginning she says she is excited because it's her first time at the White House. Then, when the President calls her into his Oval Office he asks if she has ever been there and she says that she had gotten the regular tour that didn't include the Oval Office. So has she been to the White House before or not????

Whether or not she was trying to make small-talk, it's STILL a slip-up because earlier she said it was her first time at the White House, and later she said that she had just been on the regular tour.

Sidney could mean two things: #1-She has been on the White House tour, but this is her first time as a guest/on business, which would explain her excitement even if she technically had already been there previously for only the tour. Or, #2, she is being sarcastic when she makes the "I only took the regular tour" comment. This is probably the more plausible of the two, because Sidney and the President are always being sarcastic to each other, and it fits right in.

In the original script, available for free at www.scriptdude.com, she says it to a high clearance guard regarding her clumsiness over checking in with proper ID, which would make sense even if she had been on the general publics tour.

Personally, I think she said "I've just been on the regular tour" - meaning 'just' as in before their meeting that morning... Jut my opinion, guess we'll never know for sure!
