In the part of the movie when everyone sings the song "Masquerade" near the end of the song the Phantom pops up and he starts singing his song. Now when he's walking down the stairs look at his hands and you see he doesn't have the play in his hands. Two seconds later though he just grabs it out of nowhere and throws it down. I have seen this movie many times and it bothers me everytime I watch it.
