In one part of the movie, the characters are sliding down an icy tunnel. At one point, everyone except the baby is riding over a bunch of icicles on a piece of ice. This saves them from getting killed. However, the baby does not ride a piece of ice as he goes through the same tunnel!
When Sid picks up the baby then falls when he's in the ice tunnel. The baby keeps going and Sid lands on Manny. The baby could have gone over the spikes.
