When Sharon tries to memorize the man's license plate, she does so by using an acronym. The first part is HES, and she remembers this by saying that Hogs Eat Slop. But later when she is asked, she says that his license plate says PES, for Pigs Eat Slop! I doubt that this is a deliberate mistake by the author.
