Jurassic Park - Bon Voyage!

At the end of the movie, the survivors board the helicopter and fly off into the sunset. Where the heck are they going? Guam? At the beginning of the movie it states that the island of Ilsa Nubar is 120 miles off the coast of Costa Rica. That means it's in the Pacific Ocean. Shouldn't they be heading back east, towards the mainland?

I agree, it is a slip up, not a big one, just a normal slip up, but would you rather they traveled facing dark clouds (facing the hurricane that already passed over the island), that wouldn't work with the closing piano song, wouldn't you agree?; 4 of 4 people found this comment helpful.
