First, look on the back of the movie case. It says that the boy in the movie is an eight year old boy. If you go to the scene when Dr. Crowe (Bruce willis) is looking over the notes about the boy(Haley Osment) it says that he is nine years old.
Maybe it's because the movie starts out about (I think) a year earlier. This could explain why Cole's age is different in the movie than on the box, but I don't think that the guys who made the movie thought about that.

I have also noticed this.
I have read the script and it it it also says he is 8. I think the props guy that wrote those notes got it wrong or something.

Can anyone tell me thee name of the two bands that were playing in the party scene. ie when cole is playing with the penny and when cole gets thrown into the dumbwaiter

The name of the band that is playing when we first see Cole at he party doing the penny trick is " Tinstar" and the song is called "Head". I dont know the name of the second band

Haley JOEL Osment, for your information, was 11 when he made the 6th Sense. He is now 13. Cole Sear was most likely SUPPOSED to be 8, but the person writing the notes was probably not really paying attention. (Haley's birthday, by the way, is April 10th...)
